Welcome to Lincolnwood

Peaceful neighborhood north of downtown

The town of Lincolnwood is located a mere 10 miles north of downtown Chicago, providing an easy commute to the city.

Lincolnwood provides a peaceful and nature-filled atmosphere for residents. The community offers numerous opportunities within the town and fosters opportunities with accessible transportation to downtown.

Lincolnwood is formally known as Tessville. During Prohibition, this town harbored many speakeasies and gambling opportunities. In 1936 the mayor wanted to freshen up the village's image, therefore renaming it Lincolnwood. This change brought growth to the city and attracted major businesses that helped make Lincolnwood what it is today.

In 1951 the Edens Expressway was introduced, making the village the perfect place to live and grow. A single-family home in Lincolnwood is around $410,000—much more affordable than a place in downtown Chicago. Lincolnwood fosters city activities while also giving residents a taste of nature through its beautiful parks.
